Drama Warehouse

Drama Warehouse is a program that aims to teach middle and high school students the fundamentals of theatre, from auditions through performance. The North Central Louisiana Arts Council contracts with a local theatre professional or drama educator to conduct auditions, cast the play, and lead rehearsals. Participants have the opportunity to learn about acting, costuming, set design, theatre etiquette, lighting, and sound.

The Drama Warehouse program was first announced in December 1993, and its first production was Cinderella, held at Ruston's Dixie Theater on April 15, 1994. Since that time, the program has traveled to each of the five parishes within NCLAC's area of service: Lincoln, Bienville, Claiborne, Jackson, and Union.

Most recently, NCLAC collaborated with the Union Parish Library's Teen Advisory Council to produce the play The Trial of Goldilocks by Joseph Robinette. The final performance was held September 20, 2008, at the Union Parish Courthouse. Special thanks to Ansley Bice and Nancy Wallace, who directed the play!
